Karachi: The opening ceremony for the “Japanese Calendar Exhibition 2022” was held at the Japan Information and Culture Center in the Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi.

The event was held in collaboration with Sadequain Foundation USA where the artwork of the renowned Pakistani Painter Sadequain was also displayed besides Japanese Calendars
symbolizing and bridging the two worlds of art between Japan and Pakistan.

The event began with a welcome note by Mr. Ashida Katsunori, Deputy Consul-General of Japan in Karachi. He spoke about the significance of Japanese Calendars and how they are admired for their print and designs in addition to their function of tracking days.

The artistic aura of the event shined through the carefully displayed calendars and each calendar had a distinctive theme attached to it; providing the audience a chance to experience various aspects of Japan. To top it off, calendars were given away to the guests present as a gesture to take something back as a memento from the event.

Mr. Tariq Khan, Director of Sadequain Foundation, also spoke at the event explaining the profound Islamic calligraphy art of Sadequain and the significance of his international
recognition.
